About Us

Hospice SLO County is a non-medical volunteer service organization and community grief center.

Since 1977, Hospice SLO County has provided countywide non-medical in-home emotional support, practical assistance, and caregiver relief to individuals and their families who are coping with a life-limiting illness.

Hospice SLO County grief counseling services are available to anyone in SLO County coping with the death of another regardless of when, where, or how the death occurred. We offer individual and family counseling and various support groups along with Community Grief Response – a team that helps businesses and organizations process the death of a co-worker or member. Anticipatory grief counseling is also available.

There is no charge for Hospice SLO County services. We depend 100% on community donations, fundraising events, grants, bequests, and the time and talent of over 120 volunteers to serve thousands of individuals annually.
