City of Pismo Beach offering generous summer camp scholarships for children ages 7-17 who live in Pismo Beach
PISMO BEACH — The City of Pismo Beach recently announced they will offer scholarships to help struggling families pay for summer camps. The grant funding, available through the Pismo Beach Childcare Assistance Grant Program, will help Pismo Beach residents meet immediate financial needs due to COVID-19 impacts. Scholarships will lower the cost of summer camps to just $50 per camp, and the City will cover the remaining balance. Applicants must be a Pismo Beach resident.
Summer camp options include Ocean Adventure (ages 10-15), Moondoggies Surf Camp (ages 8-17), Sea Exploration Camp (ages 7-12), Sculptures (ages 7-12), Mixed Media Beach Art (ages 7-12), Pets, Pets, Pets (ages 7-11), Bees, Birds, Blossoms, & Butterflies (ages 7-11), Creative Kids Performing Arts (ages 8-13), Drum Perks (ages 7-12), Engineering with Legos (ages 7-12), Chef Jacob's Cooking Class (ages 8-12), and Volleyball Camp (ages 10-15). South County Chambers of Commerce facilitates this program in partnership with the City of Pismo Beach. A scholarship review panel will meet to review the applications and work with the City of Pismo Beach to ensure necessary documentation is received before notifying recipients of their financial award. These scholarships will be awarded to families who demonstrate a financial need and meet the criteria.
